Dyson Airstrait Straightener
Wet to dry straightening, with air. No hot plates. No extreme heat. No heat damage.[1]
The only hair straightener with the Dyson Hyperdymium motor. For powerful, directional airflow that smooths and aligns hair.
Straightens hair as it dries, simplifying your routine. For a natural, straight finish.
How it Works
1. Pre-Dry Roots
Slide the button to lock and unlock the arms of your machine. Use with the arms locked to gently pre-dry hair and create volume from the roots.
2. Section and Style
Dyson Airstrait works at every angle. Section your hair with Dyson sectioning hair clips and work methodically around the head for best results.
3. Cool Mode to Finish
Set your style in place with Cool mode. Engineered to encourage the bonds in the hair to stay in their new place.

Reduces time spent drying and styling by an average of 25%.[4]
Intuitive Airflow
Your machine senses when hair is between the arms and automatically drops to low airflow when it’s not – for quieter, more efficient styling.
LCD Screen
High-definition colour display shows airflow and temperature settings, for easy reference when styling.
Wet and Dry Modes
Increase shine and decrease damage by straightening with air, from wet. Or refresh your dry hair between washes with no damage to your shine.
Auto Pause
After three seconds of inactivity your machine will automatically pause. Simply move the machine to restart airflow.
No Hot Plates. Just Air
Air is precisely heated and projected evenly through the tress as you style – without the extreme heat¹ or physical contact of hot plates. Preserving your hair’s natural strength and shine, for healthier looking hair and a natural looking result.
Fast, Intelligent Drying
Glass bead thermistors, located in the machine arms, regulate airflow temperature up to 16 times per second, to prevent extreme heat damage and protect hair’s natural shine.
Airflow to Smooth and Align
Airflow is projected downwards at a 45° angle to create the tension needed to align hair for a smooth end style – with less damage and breakage.[3]
Dyson Hyperdymium Motor
A 13-blade impeller spins up to 106,000rpm, propelling 11.9 litres of air through the machine per second. This generates up to 3.6kPa of air pressure, powerful enough to straighten hair as it dries.
Notes:
1. When used in wet to dry mode.
2. When used in wet to dry mode vs. hot plate straighteners which operate with extreme heat.
3. When used in wet to dry mode vs unstyled, untreated hair.
4. Time vs. existing routine. Based on the responses of 250 US Airstrait owners after min. 30 days of use, surveyed by Dyson in August 2023. Actual time saved may vary depending on the individual’s hair and styling routine.
